I am Scheduler/Performance Manager for a 200 person Call Centre - part of a National Call Centre Network with 26 call centres across the country here in Australia.
Our attrition rate is not that high compared to other organisations - we usually get up to 5 years out of our CSOs and most of the ones we lose transfer within the organisation - our CSOs are in demand in other areas of the organisation due to their technical skills and training they receive.
Having said that - I have done a year answering phones and hated it :)Comment

I worked in a call center for about a month when I moved back here after college. I worked for BMW doing follow-up calls to people that had just had their cars in for service. I think I was there for like 3 weeks before I walked out in the middle of a shift one day, just because I couldn't stand sitting on my ass and talking on the phone anymore.Comment
