She's alive! Next on the list is water plumbing and suspension. Re-fabricating the engine cage and wiring the gauges will be last. She sounds really healthy, still need fine tuning of course but the cam sounds really nice in person.

Carb is getting gravity fed at the moment. An electric fuel pump will be installed tomorrow.
I also need to clarify about the shims on the Alpha lifters. The lifters do have shims but they are internal or beneath the puck. There is no need for adjustments either.Comment

I meant the one for sale!!! yours looks like a DCOE 45? That would be a good upgrade from the downdraft 32/36 that is a common upgrade for a regular old 1.6Simon

The swap is complete! We ran into a snag setting the first motor up. The first motor was a more tame 11.1 compression. The builder made a crucial mistake setting the timing and bent a valve :(. So he had to swap in his other more radical 13.1 motor in it's place :). He adjusted the timing down to make it more friendly and now I'm able to run a 50/50 mix of race fuel and 93 octane.
The power difference between my 1641 air cooled and this motor is off the charts. This motor red lines at 9,000 rpm and is making 180hp.
The only downside is my stock clutch can not handle the power. But lucky for me he has a clutch setup that will handle the power. I'll have to wait until he returns from racing this weekend to have it installed.
A little video of the swap running, mic could not get the sound right......
