    The hunting thread.

Just bought my deer permits for this year. Can't wait for the season to start. Any r3vers hunt? I can't get enough of it.

I hunt for water fowl. That's pretty much it for me. My roommates hunt big game, and each just got a pronghorn with their bows.

I wanna go duck hunting but I don't have anyplace to duck hunt. I can go pheasant and deer hunting on the land my family has so that's just what I do. Although I bought a brand new feather weight 12. Gauge like three years ago and it hasn't fired a round. Usually when I go deer hunting it's the whole season (1 week). By the time I'm so far behind on shit I don't have time to pheasant hunt.

I haven't been drawn, for anything, since I've been putting in the last 4 years

But I am hoping to land an elk tag this next time around

I really wish I could get started. Iv done my hunters safety classes and so on, but I dont know any other hunters here in CA so I dont really have a way to get my foot in the door. Its not like you can just buy a gun and start randomly walking around in the forest shooting at shit that moves.
Maybe Ill meet some one I can go out with ones I move to WA.

Try craigslist maybe? There might be a hunting group out there? I think around here people just ask if they can shoot on your/their property?

That's how it is. You see a nice property and go ask the land owner if you can hunt on it. And ask them for the property lines

Id really like to go pig hunting. Thats what my gramps did a lot in Germany. There are plenty of them here in CA. At some point Ill meet some one who hunts and is willing to take me along and show me the ropes. I know there are going to be rules and such that are not in books, just like surfing or other "sports" where you cant drop in on people or there are ways to act and behave that are respectful to the land and people and wont get people hurt.
Luckily I already have some skills as fare as field dressing and butchering because I worked as a butcher for a while. So I know my way around an animal, and have good knife skills.
I wish I gramps was still in good enough shape to take me out but sadly he is not.

I enjoy hunting a lot, mostly around here we have pig - but deer seem to be making a small come back. The worst part about pig hunting is dragging it out of the woods, think carefully before aiming at 300 lb hog if no one can come help you.

^ lol I know how that goes. Shot a big buck and it was in a 6 foot ditch. Deer hunting is my favorite only thing that sucks is sitting on the cold forest floor at 6 am freezing your ass off.

Back in the day deer season was the best time to get laid. I dont hunt but all the deer hunters women would be easy prey at the bar. Man that was a long time ago

I went duck hunting for the first time this morning. It was quite the experience. I had a great time. I have enough expensive hobbies so I might as well get into another one. I need to buy myself a bird gun. Breasting a duck is a strange and graphic experience lol.

We did pretty well I think. Our haul-
