Sound like a good deal?

1989 VW GTI 16 valve with 2.0 liter 16 valve engine swap (bored 40cc over). Autotech power module, Euro Intake Manifold, ABD Big Bore Intake, and K&N filter completes engine mods. H&R Sport Springs with Bilstein Shocks all around. Brembo slotted and cross-drilled rotors all around as well. Car comes with 2 sets of rims: 1 set of 14" VW Teardrops and 1 set of 16" Mille Miglia Sfera rims. 2 of each set are on the car now. I'm sure there are some things I'm forgetting...Car runs, but has been sitting for almost 10 months. Car needs a heater core (Part is included)and a catalytic converter.

It's $950 obo. Just the parts are worth more than that. What do you guys think? Apparently he needs to get rid of it bad.

I'm not a water-pumper V-Dub whiz but $950/ofr. sounds like a good deal for that car. If it turns out to be a hack-job, you could easily part it out or sell it and recover what you spent....if not more.

ugh, i hate mk2's. But for 950, that sounds like a good deal!

Check for rust around the windshield and a pillars. Check for wiring hack jobs. Check for fuel leaks around the cis pump/distributor. Bad idle, run.

if you are looking for a daily then check thge fuel system over carefully although you can get used stuff CIS-e CIS-motronic stuff is BIG $ new! check around the windows for rust. there is a recall on the heater core for that streach of the a-2 you can call the dealer and run the vin for recalls and you may get that done for free! does it have a recaro int? there are good cars, pretty sinple to work on, fun to drive (fop a ft wheel drive), still pretty light weight, that's a good deal.
