This. It's a scary situation, but you shouldn't incite or cause more panic.

Stay away from windows.

Lock down heavy front doors if you can, anyone in the building should know what's going on and be told to not go outside, this is common sense. You likely won't be involved in the fire fight, but if you close off any entrances for the perpetrators you'll be better off to stay out of the situation.

This will hopefully be over rather soon.

no confirmed number of shooters however:

1 shooter confirmed dead.
2 people with gunshot wounds just admitted to Ottawa Civic Campus Hospital

Started with 1 Soldier (DND) being shot @ War Memorial this AM (still alive)
moments later after EMS is called for shooting at War Memorial they shooters hijack a car and muscle into the main block of Parliament Hill (about 200 meters away) firing 30-50 shots outside parliamentary Caucuase (sp)

shots fired at Rideau Center (huge shopping center/transit way) which leads to Department of National Defence apparently 2 ppl shot there
