Super humane (INSTANT), and very effective. Yes, it may be overkill, but it's much better than the alternative.

I've killed and slaughtered many a pig for our BBQ competitions, and hitting that brain of theirs deep in that very thick skull is a LOT harder than the average person would think it is when at range. They're not like our heads, where it's pretty vulnerable. That brain is buried deep behind a very thick skull plate, and requires a very skilled shot to hit unless you are standing right in front of it at point blank.

Also, just because it got blown up, doesn't mean the meat isn't usable.

I wouldn't use this method, but I see nothing wrong with it.

I'm pretty sure that meats trashed. It would be so bruised up and bruised meat is gross. When I kill and clean a deer I cut out the meat atleast 4 inches all the way around the bullet entry and exit.

You dont seem to get it then, this is pest extermination NOT HUNTING. Farrel hogs breed faster than rabbits and are about 10000x as destructive and will lay waste to your land over night be it your garden, your crops, or even just your lawn or more than likely to be all 3. The other issue is they are very intelligent and learn fast when they witness others dying around them, and wise up to that tactic real fast.

forgot to add, the when I was a kid I remember my grandpa using TNT for removal of tree stumps and getting rid of bother some whistle pig dens (Wood chuck/ground hogs) yup used to be able to buy dynamite at the hardware store in the 50's, you have be uber supper duper carefull with that old shit though as the nitro is leaching though the wax paper ;)

Not to mention that hogs are mean as shit. Them big tusk will shred your dog to bit if it doesn't get to you. If I had to continually deal with 300 pound wrecking machines id blow them to bits aswell haha

I wouldn't think so. I would think that the explosive force would just shear the meat, unlike the bullet that is expending all of it's energy directly into the flesh.

But, I have no proof or evidence to back up that thought, so it's just hearsay really. At the very least though, It could still be used to make ham stock soups, and pet food. So, still useable.
