anyone do halloween in Maui?

I had no idea Halloween was such a big deal in Hawaii
They close down a whole street in Lahaina from after noon some time on and have two parades.
First one is kids then another of adults, then as the night goes on it gets pretty wild.
They said it was the Mardi Gras of the Pacific.
They had some crazy costumes, some awful ones and the women that use this as an excuse
To wear the least amount of clothing possible
Awesome time so far in Maui, everyone should go!

last time i celebrated halloween in maui i was dressed up as a ninja turtle...and i was 7. didn't go to lahaina but makawao still had droves of kids wandering the streets.

I have, but not in a long time. Yes, it's pretty wild and ppl come from all over the world to see the different costumes and partisipate in the costume contest. Some chicks just wear body paint! I would def go back to see it.
