    European Car Magazine

Mine came in todays mail. Is it just me, or is this mag getting thinner and thinner. I've subscribed to it for years, way back to the VW/porsche days. At the rate it's going it will be gone by year end.

I used to have a subscription to EC as well....cancelled it a few years back for the same reasons you mention....just find it lacking in stuff I want to read. I too used to have this mag delivered back in the day when it was VW/Porsche (it was a great read then). The only BMW mag I get these days is the Roundel....and I never, ever read the entire thing.

Although I don't own a Porsche, I still pick up copies of Excellence magazine to keep up on the P-car scene. Now that is a great mag.

EC has been sucking wind for several years now. I used to get EC and all sorts of car mags, most of which ended up going unread. I think I'm down to 3 mags now, Roundel, BMW MOA Owner's News and Grassroots Motorsport. I read most of Roundel and GRM and some of ON every month, that's enough for me.

Yes, each month it sucks more and more. I don't think it'll last past this winter.

I couldn't agree more. I have subscribed off and on for years. I started about 12 years ago. It was a good mag. I let my subscription lapse about 5 years ago because I was moving to new addresses frequently. I re-upped my subscription this past year, and now EC blows. All the articles are the same and there is less substantive content than ever. Perhaps the internet is putting it under, but, nonetheless, it sucks.

Excellence is the best Porsche mag. My 951 owning friend got lots of help from their 944 Technical section. What do I read? Roundel.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

I have not renewed my subscription or the same reasons as stated above. It seems like the vehicles in each issue get more and more out of reach to the common man. The articles always have some Mercedes on 21" black wheels with a giagantic polished lip and a truck load of stereo equipment. Every now and then they actually feature a car that sparks my interest but not enough to keep me satisfied. GRM FTW

I think they lack not only content but interesting cars. I can go onto the internet and (within minutes) find some numbnuts assclown with a carbon fiber-clad E46 or Mk4 VW. Wow man, sweet glass enclosed subwoofer.

It'd be nice for an all-marque Euro mag to really show us some interesting stuff every month, with articles that perhaps span more than one or two pages. Ooh, and writers with technical knowledge that don't repeat stuff off of product fact sheets!

I had a subscription to ECM for three years, mainly for the project cars. I did not renew this last year though.

i miss my GRM. need to fix that. (NASA membership ran out) .. roundel, eh. i skim and scan.

ec still has good tech on the letters on the site - mchenry, miller, etc.

the best talk comes from OGs and the paddock. most rags are worthless unless you want to find the best new turbo upgrade for your GTI or body kit for your 328... all expect GRM ;) Sentra suspension tech, project MR2, etc.

I hope it stays in existence for at least another 2 years. My subscription is paid through March '08! About 5 or 6 years ago I sent in money for like a 4 year subscription, not knowing I did that my wife simultaneously sent in the same as a gift for me. Instead of giving me any kind of refund they just doubled up the subsrciption period. Its been kind of a joke at the house as to how long I've been getting it in the mail.

I still have a subscription; don't know why.

anyone else catch the email from GRM about a 99$ ten year subscription? Been pondering on that one all week.
