    SPOILER: Spanish GP Quali Results

The title says it all......so stfu if you don't wanna know :-P Alonso looks to be in strong form for his home race. Tires are going to be key for this one, particularly the left front since it takes a pounding due to all the long, sweeping right turns. Weather looks good too so no surprises there. If only Speed was covering it instead of CBS, it would perfect.

Speed dropped the ball with the Monza GP. Ferarri wins and they don't carry a live telecast. What is with them...

CBS has broadcast rights to 4 or 5 Formula 1 races this year....I guess they're just trying to diversify their programming, but in the process they hack up the coverage pretty bad....only 90 minutes to cover this weekends' race. So if you would rather catch the Spanish GP on Speed it will be re-broadcast on Sunday, May 21 (check your listings for time). If you can't wait that long, you will have to put up with Derek Daily and Ralph Shaheen (read: dork boy) for commentary. The latter just bugs me for some reason.

Id rather watch it on ESPN like the good old days. After they first switched over to Speed we had to deal with that jackass Sam Posey. HE was a moron

As for the race, check out www.itv-f1.com if you dont already know of it. Schuie as well as some other drivers suggest that the Ferraris are set up for the race with more fuel, viewing the end result and not just a simple battle. I hope so, either way it looks to be a great race!

Daily is bad too.... the whole CBS coverage blows for the true F1 fan. Speed this year is doing a great job with coverage.

Interesting bit of news. I watched Friday's practice and both Steve Matchett and David Hobbs were commenting on how softer compound tires were being tried out as a potential choice for this weekend. This would seem to be backwards thinking for a car that is rumored to go out with a heavy fuel load. All those sweeping right-handers will have the grooves of the left front tire gone in no time. Perhaps Renault is banking on soft tires + lighter fuel load to establish an early lead and thus a three-stop strategy. Its shaping up to be a good race.

I watched practice on friday also. They were making the point as Massa had set the fastest time of the weekend at that point on those tires in morning practice, but i dont think they were on them for the afternoon practice. I think only Massa had run on them this weekend thus far, but i missed quali as i was at work

My personal thought is Renault is running light and Ferrari is heavy with Schumi having the clean side of the track. Guess will see on CBS tomorrow.
