Alright guys this was around sept.. i didn't see this until now. I was up in portland or visiting, and my ex and i were driving down from a place. Nothing special, just a normal morning. It was before noon. Anyways we driving and next thing i see was a red la ferrari. I never in my life would have expected to see on. It was driving the opposite way, so there was no way to turn around on the freeway. But it is such a beautiful car. All i know was it was red, and going east on 85.

              Maybe.

Barchetta just means "little boat." So all those little 50s hot rod Ferraris, Alfas, Maseratis, Lancias, etc, with no top, no side windows, and sometimes no doors were called barchettas.

That makes sense, since I think he's singing about a car much older than that 212 above. Thanks for the info LateFan!

                    Much F-cars here....
The first-ever standalone Ferrari Challenge race at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas wasn’t just a race. It was a celebration of speed, and owners brought out the good stuff for this party.

For many years, these just sat at $20,000. They smoked a bit, maybe needed a few things, the bad ones had some rust where the panels touched the steel frame tubes underneath.

The noise they make. I followed a black one through Bozeman MT in maybe 1980-ish. Still remember the sound.

                        Amazing how those have appreciated...

I love the sound, even with them babying it.

dino's haven't moved too much in price over the last couple years like other ferrari models. 3 years ago they were a 3-400k car and they still are. almost everything else has at least doubled during that period.

Did I ever post that I saw this actual car in person? 250LM Stradale. One-of-a-kind. I believe it was the Paris Salon car in the 60s. The street version of the 250LM that raced LeMans.

I happened to be passing this local shop that repairs and stores exotics for out-of-state clients. (They register them in MT to avoid taxes in their state). From a block away I said UH oh, what's this?! It almost looked Dino-like, and about that size - surprisingly small.

They were rolling it out of a garage (running!) and loading it into a closed trailer, where it was being taken to fly to Europe for some show.

It sounded fantastic. Small V12, little cylinders, quick revving. And the bodywork, design, and workmanship were amazing. I've never seen a track LM, and they're pretty cool, but this was something. That back window, with the compound curves, how did they even.....?

The roof panels pop open above the doors so you can get your head in and out.

One of the best parts was that they drove it out of the garage, down a 1/2 block to the truck, and into the trailer. Stood and chatted with me about it. So lucky to have been there that day.

Here it is...she wasn't with it....
