    Budget Heeter

This thread is to clown on Mr. Beatoff and show how most OGs do it. We don't waste money on pointless shit, can indeed find deals and make good use out of our resources.

Of course for a part I need, I want to get the bargain on it, but won't be buying any unneccessary, pointless/worthless parts because they are cheap! edit: When we want the right quality part, there is nothing wrong with shelling out the $ it deserves.

My 140K 325is was purchased with some cool goodies installed and was previously owned by a BMWCCA member and many parts not original are still BMW parts from the dealer and everything seemed pretty legit on it.

If you feel the desire to post your personal r3v budget experience, post it here. Apparantly we are all fools spending too much on parts... hahaha.

    EPISODE ONE: Spark Plug Wires

I don't just believe my wires need to be upgraded. I think about how I could get better gas mileage and why my car is down on power from where it should be stock and well maintained. Year old fuel filter, year old plugs, two year old cap/rotor, year old air filter, fresh oil/filter, 50K head after rebuild, only 140K on bottom end...

well, I think... what about my plug wires? Sure enough I go outside in the dark and spray them and find they are indeed arching.

So I log on apexperformance.net, see the 8mm magnecor wires are only $3 more than the 7mm ones, and are super cool racing blue, so I order them. Not only am I saving a buttload over OEM, but they are quality.

I install them easily enough, and first drive...WOW! Feels as good or better than when my car had a chip in it. Torquey, powerful, racing to redline....FUN. And it's not some aftermarket performance part that did it really... it was GOSH!... proper maintence!!!

you want me to spend $60 to prove that new $50 replacement wires are better than decade's old wires that are arching?

haha. what's next? dyno-testing the effects of a clean vs. clogged air filter? fresh oil change versus 10,000 mile old sludge?
