A friend of mine has been working on/off packing 'chutes for a skydiving outfit in Amherst, MA for the last couple years. From what he says, no one ever comes away from skydiving wishing they'd hadn't gone. Most just go back repeatedly because the adrenaline rush is so addictive.

There was a guy in this month's Popular Science that used a wing suit and jet boots to stay at a stable altitude for over 3 minutes. He wasn't able to climb, but he didn't drop in altitude either. pretty cool. The article said he hope to build stronger jets so he can start to climb and stay up longer.
