Too bland. I would just run it over with the lawn mower.

Absolutely! I respect them and what they are capable of, but do not fear them. Most people kill any snake they see just because they are afraid. Unfortunately, that fear is irrational. Snakes are just as afraid of humans, as most humans are of the snake and given half a chance, will try to escape without conflict.

thats a sick ass looking snake.
I used to be all about herping when I was younger, my parents live in the country and I used to run around turning over rocks all day long.
come to think of it the largest diamond back rattle snake in captivity was caught about 100ft from our house, that beast should still be at the KU natural history museum (if its still alive). that thing was fucking ridiculous.

Isn't their venom deadly to humans?

In sufficient quantities, yes, it could be, however, most bites don't inject enough venom to kill an average adult. Small children would be much more likely to die from a bite. More people die from dog bites than they do from snake bites but you don't see people chopping dogs' heads off with a hoe or shovel.

Couple intersting links about poisonous snake bites:

On that note, you may find it interesting that the Black Widow spider (female of course) has venom that is 15X more potent than that of the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake. We have lots of the black widows around here too. Next time I come across one, I'll be sure to take some pics and post 'em up.

Here's a couple pics of a run-of-the-mill garden spider (Argiope):

I hate the fuggin spiders, used to go bike ridin on some trails by the house and would run into their webs and freak out cause we never new if the spider was in it or not.

hehe on topic heres our spider :P

Gets to be about the size of a dinner plate and will eat birds when its full size :)

Its super mean though, I dont want my fingers anywhere near it. If you put a pen by its head it latches on and trys to kill it.

We also have another one thats about the size of a half dollar right now, its supposed to get even bigger, but I couldnt find it. Its hiding in its cage somewhere.

Spiders give me extreme chills. But coyotes, snakes, other reptiles, mountain lions I think are cool and dont get scared. Go figure. Lots of Black Widows at my 'rents house too.
