    Schuey's Quali Farce?

I didn't wake up early enough today to watch qualifying for the Monaco GP, but there's a news story spreading on the net that Schuey was in rare form and stalled his car after setting his P1 time and this had a chain-reaction effect on the qualifying times for everyone else in the field.....thus securing him his P1 grid position.

So who here actually watched it? I think Speed TV will re-broadcast qualifying this evening and if they do I will try to catch it.

I watched it. Knowing (well, hearing about) MS's history of pulling stunts like this, it doesn't seem too surprising.

With how hard it is to pass at Monaco, it's gonna be a great race!

Well I just finished watching the re-broadcast of the Monaco qualifying, including the post-session interview, and all I can say is MS knew what he was attempting to pull. One thing I caught on to was how he kept looking away from the camera & Peter Widsor as he tried to explain what happened. Trademark body language he is lying....this guy probably sucks at poker too :-P

At any rate, Formula1.com posted a story stating that following an investigation, MS has been stripped of his pole position and has been relegated to the back of the grid where, ironically, his team mate Massa is for wrecking his car in an earlier qualifying session. Two red cars bringing up the rear......I bet Ferrari can't wait to get out of Monaco Sunday night. I wonder how CBS will try to fit this storyline into their condensed Formula 1 coverage format.

On a brighter note: kudos to Mark Webber for putting the Williams/Cosworth on P3 - that's a great result for him. Hopefully he can maintain position within the top five and take home some well-deserved points.

Raikonnen started last in Bahrain. Finished 3rd.

Glad to see the Mercedes on the 3/4. I will be looking foward to seeing Raikonnen's first win today.

Furthest someone has come from winning at Monaco is 14th, Panis 10 years ago. After 52 races in Monaco, 42 have come from the top 3. Theres a difference between all tracks and Monaco, passing dosent happen.

If i had anything to say about it, id tell Ferrari to just sit this one out.

Well, 5th is better then 22ed.

A bummer both Kimi and Webber dropped out due to the "ka-blam-o" factor. Each were having a very strong race with promising podium finishes. Webber in particular was ticked about it....having chucked his steering wheel into the cockpit after climbing out. I remember some time ago Kimi did the same thing after dropping out of a race and the FIA fined him for it. And considering MSCs hat trick from qualifying which reduced him to back-marker status, coming up with 5th ain't too shabby.

As for CBS, they stayed true to form with butchering the race. Did anyone notice that whenever they returned from a commercial break at least two laps had been edited? Add a few of those up and there's 10%+ of the race. Then the post-race trophy presentation and interviews....all boiled down to about one minute and some change. I think CBS should stand for:

                              Complimentary Butchering Service
                              Constant Butchering Service
                              Can't Broadcast Service

What sucks even more is that CBS is covering the British GP in two weeks. Yet another two hours with dork-boy Ralph Shaheen.
