Why everyone in my old band needs to die...

So as some of you know I was in a rock band based out of Ontario for a little while. Everything was hunky dory for awhile but I got screwed when we recorded. It's a long story and I won't bore you with the little details but in short they took a bunch of my material, recorded it, mixed me off the CD, pushed me out of the band, and have refused to pay me a cent for royalties or my time in the studio. I finally (after months of waiting) got a copy of the CD. They would let me hear it or send me a copy and now I know why: The CD went to production BEFORE the my major dispute with the band (which eventually led to me quitting) BUT I've been cut out of all of the pictures and am not credited in the liner notes except as a "We'd like to thank..." person. This can only bring me to the conclusion that they were planning to force me out of the band from the start of the recording project. I don't know what this has to do with e30s so I appologize for the randomness, I just felt like venting.

That does suck. BUT......life's too short to let shit like this get you down. Just move on and join/start another band if that's what you are into. Worrying about how bad they screwed you or whatever else they did wrong to you won't get you anywhere, it's a total waste of time and energy.

As hard as it might seem to you right now, just get over it - I believe that if they screwed you over, they'll get what's coming to them sometime.

I'm gonna go w/ bret on this one, life is to short to get to upset by it. It stinks but thats life sometimes. To sue them you will spend a LOT of time and a LOT of effort. It would be easier to let it go IMHO. Think about it this way, if its going to mean ANYTHING in 5 yrs then do something about it, if its not going to really matter in 5 yrs then just let it go.

I agree with everyone that letting it all go will ultimately be the best thing and I will have to do it anyway because I will never get a truly fair settlement out of them. That said, they're a corporation, and a fairly big one at that, and they broke many laws by releasing my stuff without permission. Is it worth it to sue them? No, but I'm going to make a little bit of a stink about it for now and just smear their name in the music community a little. They are after all doing the same for me already, that's the kind of lousy fuckers they are. I mean I knew they were lousy fuckers going into this deal but I thought they were just lousy fuckers because they drank to much and cheated on their wives and girlfriends with hot groupies. (With the exception of the bagpipe player, he would include his girlfriend so he was never really cheating I suppose...) They're a fairly big group, and after selling 190,000 albums they can afford to cough up at least my royalties....
