Can someone explain to me the attraction of a lumpy cam?

    I personally love the different sounds of engines. I guess that's why I own German, Japanese and American.

    Only listening to the sound, I think it sounds like crap too.
    Like a beat down engine that's about to die.
    Probably because those lumpy came guys run super loud straight pipe and that
    by itself sound stupid. You better be making like 600hp at least.

    I have a friend who got a cam for his his el camino.
    He was pissed! There wasn't a lump to it, then got a SHIT cam
    that made it barley idle and his car is still slow as balls, but he's happy because he Just loves that sound. blah.

    I've experienced something similar with my m20 on really cold days... Sounds like a quiet muscle car or a diesel or something but then it goes away by the end of my street :(

He said it was the best years of his life racing in that time period. He also raced for James Garner in Formula 5000 and in a Lola T70 i think that was the name of the car.
    That's awesome. Here's a pretty cool documentary on amazon prime of Garner's racing team from those days. Scooter plays a huge part in the team.

    s65 sounds like a lumpy cam big block every time I start it up.......kinda cool, but it very awkwardly immediately turns into a normal euro idle after about a minute. I'm not an engineer, but I've heard it has to do with emissions and heating up the cats.....maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong about that.

    firebird I am going to have see if I can the vid of my brothers LQ1 at the very end of his dyno pull last year. That netted 496 to wheels on 10psi with the exhaust cam on the front bank running 4-6 degrees advanced......... Its built for pushing 2bar....
