In Maryland if you have a clean record you can usually plead guilty and request probation. I've heard of many success stories from friends with tainted driving records. They know people aren't perfect. But if they can tell that it was clear you were not allowed to make a U-Turn, then good luck.
It also depends on the judge and if the cop shows up. If the cop doesn't show, you stand a better chance of getting of typically.
Admit you made a mistake to the judge and ask for probation. If the court fees outweigh the fine then don't even bother.
Depending on the number of points the ticket is on your license, the judge may also be able to lower the points too.

The point of this post, in case anyone missed it, was to see what other options i have besides just paying the fine.
One more time if it still isn't clear... I AM NOT BITCHING ABOUT IT AND I REALIZE THAT I AM AT FAULT.

You'll probably get some bullshit ticket that you'll get pegged by somewhere down the road, even though it was undeserved. So if you fight it and get it reduced, you'll only be maintaining the integrity of the universe...right?sigpic
