Good looking cars. How do you like the Audi? Don't they have bad electrical problems?

The A3 went from my Wife to my Son. He has had the car revoked. The CRV was a trade for the Sharon. One comes, one goes (mostly)

I have a new e30 in L.A. waiting for my next return (called in my Brother's debt in exchange for a space in his garage on that one)

That's the first interior picture of the A3 I'd seen. Audi really didn't do a very good job. They're still cool cars though, and they're all over Germany.

It is a 2001. The ones on sale in the U.S. are bigger. (redesign).

I like it alot (except for the auto) It is very like my Passat that I have in L.A. (interior) same gauges, dash, switches etc.

passat and A3's are 90% the same parts anyway, other than grilles, bumpers and such, a quattro drivetrain is the same as a 4 motion FYI

Only if the engine is mounted traversly, like in the A3 or TT. If it's longitudinal, like in the A4, A6, etc, it's a different system.

I was referring to interior pieces. The A3 is fwd and the motor is transversly mounted, the passat is 4motion and the motor is indeed mounted normally.

Today I have 10 vehicles. The Suburban has most likely been "absorbed" by my unemployed alcoholic Brother in Law. He totaled his pos Chrysler Town & Country so we were guilted into "lending" it to him. Usually when we loan his Family things they are gone, I never lend him anything I need back.

The rest are used by family members but they at least pretend to have respect for them. In my possession I have 5 here at the house but again they are used daily by the kids and wife. My Son is pissed as he has been relegated to the 1999 Cavalier which is not as "cool" as any of the other vehicles and no one wants to use.

My first reply was for bahne30. ;)

In VW's and Audi's, transverse mounted motors get a Haldex center differential, longitudinal engines get a Torsen center differential. The brand names (quattro and 4motion) can be misleading as to which technology is actually being used.
