The SE30 has a little more brake and low end torque vs a SM. So we can ever so slightly outbrake them, and get a little bit more of a jump out of the corner, so you are talking maybe a second or two.
Like I said, it really depends on the track. They are both somewhat momentum cars, so carrying speed through the corner is paramount, but the M20 does give a little help if you have to scrub some speed mid corner for whatever reason.
That being said, SM will make up for it by bump drafting out of corners. It's something I think they teach on day 1 of your first SM race - Bump Drafting out of every corner.
Spec racing seems like tons of fun and something I will consider later down the line. For now test and tune days and autocross is my only avenue for the time being. This miata having flares makes it a no go for SM.
