Well you're kinda proving my point by saying academics were the lowest common denominator. The whole reason we are SUPPOSED to be in school is for the academics. I played sports, and made friends, but I didn't need school for either of things. I don't think we should abandon all hope for ever educating our children, I just think public school is probably the least effecient model available.
