For those who care:

Apparently, the new version of Bumblebee will be based on the Chevy Camaro concept car and not a VW Beetle. I don’t know how they’re going to handle it, but they better make a reference to the original Beetle because basing it on the new Camaro makes no sense at all. Unless they do something like kill the old Bumblebee in VW form, then he gets brought back as the new Camaro (that’s another rumor I hear). Why not just make it a new character?

I saw the preview last night at the movies. I saw it and was like................jaw drop to the floor, then sudden excitement. I can't wait for it to come out, deffinitely going to the first showing I can.

If this all turns out to be true, I'll boycott it on general principle, as will damn neaer anyone else from my generation. I grew up on that cartoon, I have the entire run of the TV show on DVD, as well as the movie.

Josh I don't have any seasons on DVD yet but plan to buy them. I do own the original movie and have about a seasons worth of episodes on my computer.

I won't boycott the movie, I will see it, but I don't think there is any possible way I will like it, but I hope they make some refrences to the original movie.

The use of the Camaro will be purely marketing for GM, along with the XBOX etc... Its probably what funded half the movie. Though, realistically, if soundwave was still a boombox shooting out cassettes it would just look silly next to todays technology.

Oh well.

Yeah I'm not expecting much, but I will see it because honestly I'll enjoy it just to see Optimus Prime back on the big screen, not the few shows that looked nothing like the original after his... passing. I may even end up liking it.


Sucks about Soundwave. Cuz nobody can drop a funky ass bassline like him.

Of course the movie will "suck". You can't honestly tell me that the original transformers movie was a quality cinematic production? It just sucked to such a high degree that it became awsome. I will see the new transformers, but I go with the expectation that it will suck. Regradless, it will be a visual treat, and hopefully it will maintain the level of ridiculousness that made it great in the first place.

Though I have no doubt the soundtrack will not be up to par with the original. "YOU GOT THE TOUCH.... YOU GOT THE POWAAAA" was a classic. And the Wierd Al music from the dance/rave scene pretty much made the movie.
