Since my girlfreind Meghan was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago, we've really been into supporting cancer research/aid efforts. There is an event in Kenosha called the Relay for Life which is run by the American Cancer Society. The event is also held elsewhere so you might have heard about it. It is a run/walk event designed to raise money for cancer research/cancer patients. You can read more about the event here.

Sorry to hear about your girlfriend. My wife works for the American Cancer Society and is a coordinator for the WMU (Western Michigan University) Relay for Life event.

Yeah, I try not to be one of those people who only gets involved in things that have affected them. Ive been either running or vollunteering for such events for years. Vollunteering can actually be a lot of fun too.
