Anyone near Bryson City or Almond, NC?

My girlfriend and I are going up there in early Aug. I know the Smoky mountains are there and Gatlinburg TN is close... oh and the tail of the dragon... anything you recommend to go or stay away from?

Might check out the Nantahala Outdoor Center, some cool stuff out there.

Yeah I looked at NOC but the prices are a bit too much... the cabin I am staying at is around $199 since it's peak time... so for two nights, food, water and water pistols it can add up...

I told my g/f about the dragon and she's like "you can go on it your self" lol..

Well, maybe check out the Cherahola Skyway then...not too much further from the Dragon. Not sure if they're enforcing that area also though.
