    SUV Ideas

My dad called me saying he is looking to get rid of his Suburban, it has 160k on it and is start to "cost more money to fix than drive"

I dont know much about SUVs, but I told him there were some great new hybrid SUVs that are getting better than 35mpg city. He really wants to keep the size of the suburban (why? beats me..)

Does anyone have a reccomendation on a new car?

3 rows of seats is a must, and with the rears folded down need lots of trunk room.

Too bad the Q7 is so expensive :)

I've never seen any SUVs that get ~35 in the city, even the hybrids.

It sounds like he should get another Suburban... although I would go Sequoia.

Tell him Suvs suck. Why does he need seating for seven? Get a wagon.

He has already owned a GM product therefore he is obviously not too worried about quality.

Nissan Armada is another option. Full-size, more powerful V8 than the Toyota equivilant, better towing capacity and 3rd row seating. My brother-in-law has one.....nice ride.

? GM makes some of the most reliable large duty trucks out there. My family has a 2000 tahoe with 210k on it and it still rides and runs great. Keep up with the maintanace and there aren't any worries. Americans and their amazing knack to overlook regular service on an american truck are more to blame for the decay of american trucks. My company leases over 5000 american cars throughout the states (old school american company btw). The majority are towncars and full size trucks, the only problems I can remember in the 9 yrs of employment were the dodge trucks' trannies going out. Our trucks MUST last at least 120k that is how long we have them before the lease is up.
If you are talking interior quality then cool, but it's a truck. Radio seats and rearview. Maybe ac.
                          Yours truly,
