I love watching these. What amazes me is how well the crash barriers absorb impact. Some of those accidents could have been worse with less effective barriers. -
Edit: So i guess Renault Meganes understeer.Last edited by Wschnitz; 01-13-2016, 04:15 PM.1989 BMW 325is | 2019 Ford Ranger FX4willschnitz

But they are pricey when you smack one. I paid over 1k euros to repair my blunder back in 02.Comment

it seems like most of these crashes were because the drivers didn't know the course. almost everyone was coming in way too hot and/or in the wrong line.
luckily most of the cars were little hot hatches and nothing too nice haha. except that skyline in the eighth or seventh minute </3sigpic

Driving the ring in real life is not like practicing on play station.Comment

The Skyline had me in tears. But only because in the USA we're anti-skyline. In any case, it seemed like most people were coming in too hot.

Wow that's kind of painful to watch.
Some of those motorcycle riders were totally unaware of the cars coming up along side them. They were dang lucky they did not get taken out.
Side note i actually saw a F1 race at the ring in like 70 or 71 with the USO.
people like Clay Regazoni, Jacky Ickx, Jackie Stewart. all those dudes was amazing.Directly above the center of the EarthComment

I remember many years back on some tv show with Tanner Foust, he was going to be driving on the ring soon and they showed him practicing on gran turismo 4 lol
he was like hey man, its better than nothing haha which I guess is true.sigpic

man, I loved gt4 (and gt2)
still remember mastering cheap builds on 20k budgets with buddies and racing them. This was back when tuned Civics were all the rage and that's what they'd choose.
I was more strategic. I'd see what the track looked like and choose my car accordingly. If there was a fair share of long straights, I'd choose something like an old Supra. And with a few small mods like intake, exh, lightened flywheel etc. I'd school then in the long straights. Sure in the corners they'd have me, but as soon as the road opened up, I was golden :DIf it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!Comment

In every gran turismo I just save and buy the F1 car and just try to set the fastest laps I can, I can do that shit for hours lol.

Maybe it's because I actually race sometimes, but I never liked or really understood crash compilation videos. Nothing peevs me more than when one of our customers or someone else has a bad incident and a bunch of people gather around to look at the crushed car afterwards.Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one? Info, photos, videos, and more can be found at www.michaelsvintageracing.com!

I can understand the feeling, but crash videos can be helpful in showing what you should not do where on the track. After all, we learn very effectively from failure. Let's not forget that these videos also include some really nice saves that can be quite heartening.Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one?
