This 2012 interview with hoffman really puts it in perspective when taking about all the concussions he has suffered from.

"What I learned a long time ago," Hoffman said, "is whenever I get knocked out and I lose my memory, the deepest memories, the most emotional memories, come back first.

"When those come back and you don't have all those other memories to balance [them], you kind of start thinking, and you start getting really depressed, like, 'How do I even deal with life?'

Been having a real hard time with this one. I was lucky enough to get to ride his warehouse and meet him a number of years back. Easily one of the most humble people I've ever met. Super nice, genuine guy and even with all his fame and success it never seemed to change that.

This just goes to show you no matter how successful and outwardly positive someone may seem, they may be fighting a losing battle within themselves. Mental illness is no joke.

        RIP Dave
