    Gift from Grandpa

My Grandfather was a mechanic back in the "golden Era" when they repaired everything.
My dad had this machine sitting on a shelf. It needed belts and a coolant tank repair since I was a kid.
20 yrs later my racing is growing and I convinced him to let me move it to the race shop on lend.

anyone got an idea of what year it is, or more importantly. where to find belts stones and a manual??

It's an old school valve grinder. I'd love to have one of these in the shop.

It's a valve cutting tool, as stated on the ID plate. Check the channel RegularCars on Youtube for a recent video of one in use.

We had one of those in my high school auto shop class for "small engines" class to cut resurface valves for lawn mower engines

I am trying to locate a place to get new belts for it. and hopefully a wiring schematic. the wiring is toast so all needs to be redone.
best I can figure so far is this.

                Black and Decker
                Super surface valve refacer
                Type code: NWB
                mfg year- between 1945-1959

I am super excited to have inherited this item for the shop and will be well taken care of and used once it is running again.

I have a book with it, the fundamentals of valve resurfacing. but its more about how too and what not to do. doesnt have things like belt part numbers or any tech info on the machine its self.
