what do you guys think of...

what are your thoughts on f-body cars. yes, i know they have a redneck/mullet/missing teeth stereotype associated with them, but they seem like a pretty good bargin for a car with a V8 that responds well to mods and a 6 speed that gets decent gas mileage on the freeway. they pull mid .8's on the skidpad, which isn't great, but not a bad starting place.

have any of you ever owned one? how does it compare to the e30 you drive now? any other thoughts? i know this is a bmw forum, but try not to be too biased... unless you have owned one before.

I good friend of mine has a fbody camaro. You can't campare e30s to camaros. Interior is cheap and plasticky. Wheel base is too long so in no way is it nimble. Seats are too soft and offer no support. Bumpers are all wavy. Mechanically the car was pretty durable.
Renting my rear wheel bearing tool kit. SIR

AHAHAHA, look up the old 0-60 times of some of those 'bang for your buck' cars. The VW Golf GTI [8v] was faster 0-60 then an RS back in '88. Some of the v8s only had 160hp too. F Bodys are GIANT shit piles, dont bother

maybe they can be made to be fast in a straight line (or even handle), but they are built with typical garbage GM quality.

ya, the third gens were really slow if it didn't have the 5.7 in it. i was mostly refering to the 4th gen cars. i want something with more muscle. i like cars that handle well which is why i have what i do... and i'm working on the "stroker" build, so hopefully that will be more satisfying than what it is now.

that was my point, you can build a 400x400 v8 with parts from summit racing for the price of a shitty eta.

I believe in your rant you forgot to mention the fact that a 4th gen ss is sooooo much faster than an e30 and has a six speed to boot.
