    Printer Expert? I need advice.

OK, so I need a color printer/fax/scanner at my shop. I already have a LaserJet 2300dn, soon to add a 3rd tray...so B/W is covered.

    Here is what I want:

Fax (VOiP would be a dream, but I ain't holding my breath)
Network connection, Ethernet necessary, but WiFi wouldn't hurt.
Multi tank for color, at least 3.
Copier function (likely to be its most used feature)
Card slots not necessary, but not against it.
Inkjet, unless I find an incredible deal on a color laser.

Pretty much anything is gonna have decent enough print capacity. This will get only occasional usage, so I don't need amazing performance. Price is somewhat of an issue, but I really don't want to sacrifice any of the above list.

    I appreciate your help!
    Luke

go get a kyocera laser. Toner lasts a shitload longer than waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles as inkjet cartridges.
    Im now E30less.

Yeah sure...I will just hop in my E55 DD and go get one.

Think it will fit in the trunk along with my golf clubs?

I like my hp 5610 all in one, it has a flatbed for copying, but also a feeder on top which is great for faxing, but you can copy that way too. It's not a business model, and I think they have a beefier one in the same line.

Read a little more, you'll prob want something more robust like the 6210 or 7310. Good line though.

Your requirements go completely against the "limited use" & "price is a factor" statement. You're looking at a fairly high end consumer/small office unit if you want those specs.

Something like this would probably be your best bet if the "single color tanks" isn't a big feature on your list.

Otherwise, you're looking at something along these lines:

lease one! a buddy of mine leases a huge color laser/fax/printer for his mortgage company and it only costs him $0.03 per page (color, B&W, doesn't matter) and when the toner runs out the lease company replaces it for him. whenever I want to print something on a color laser I go over there :D

Leasing a beast is a little overkill and unless you are printing tons of docs each day it will eventually become burden that you will have a hard time getting out of.

Here is what I would look into:

We’re sorry, but this page does not existing. Please visit our home page for more information.

Stick to Ethernet for network printing. I've installed a few HP Wifi printers for customers and most of the home and small business printers that have this feature either work very well or not at all and HP tech support could never fix it.

Otherwise, if you decide to go Laser..

I know it costs alot more BUT overall cost of ownership is less when buying toner if you are printing alot of documents.

If you need something cheap just for faxes and color prints I have a Lexmark All-In-One Fax Machine that does pretty good. I'll sell it cheap too. $50 Shipped cheap.

Charlie, Rit, thanks for the input.

You other guys, thanks for the laugh.

I will think about the Lexmark...I hate Lexmark, and this is for my shop. I can put up with some shit at home, but not at work.

No, I have to have it re-aligned. I ran over some pedestrians. Some bitches skull got stuck in a crossmember, and when I turned into my driveway, it messed up my alignment.

Now I have to have it detailed again, too.

I have an HP 2710 Wi-Fi All-In-One and I love it best printer I've ever owned.

I love the wi-fi, it works perfectly! You just need to know how to set it up properly. I've done a few at work.

If you want the sep in tanks, Check out the HP 3310, it has wi-fi. If you dont want the fax, check out the HP 3210.

But since you its for business use, check the the 7210,7310,7410. The 7410 is the top of the line one with fax, wi-fi, networking, legal scanner...but has a higher price tag.

The 7310 is just as good without wireless. But they all dont have sep ink tanks. No business all in ones with the sep ink tanks and document fader as yet, so if you dont need the doc. feeder go for the 3310.

I ran a CAT5e cable already. My letterhead is all blue, so that is why I wanted seperate tanks. I NEED Fax...reveiws on the 3xxx series have been horrible, but I can't believe my beloved HP printer people suck at the all-in-one game.

                        Thanks, guys, keep it coming.
