I totally agree. The previous trio all had experience in both cars and journalism, as does Harris. IMO that makes him the most qualified of the bunch. I agree with you about Evans not being a car guy. He has nice cars, but knows probably fuckall about them, or any others. LeBlanc is a little more of a car guy, I think. In his TG interview I think he mentioned he has a 996 with some mods that he does track days with, and he has a ranch with a motocross track, so I'd say he's a little more car savvy, but still not as much as he needs to be. I have no idea who Rory is, or if he's a car guy, but I liked him, and he seemed to do well with Harris, at least compared to Evans/Leblanc.

Also, I'd really like to see the format scrapped and redone. Same with the writers. I'm not sure how much the old show was scripted, but now that I've seen the new show, I think much more was scripted than I realized. And it seems like they're still writing as if JC, May and Hammond are still there, and that's not going to work.

Rory, yeah that guy. They have another person too though right? Eddie Jordan? Don't know much about him.

She wouldn't need to be in every episode, but I enjoyed her on the TG episodes of previous years. Pair her and the Stig together often could be entertaining.

He's rich, so he has some really expensive cars. Old TG May borrowed his Ferrari California, but the guy has them in basically a museum. While it's pretentious to say he's not a real car guy, I don't think he is. /mycompletelybiasedopinion

America's Chris Evans would be a better host for Top Gear than UK's Chris Evans. I just don't like him. I haven't watched it yet though but I'm hearing he's boring on the show.

Leblanc and Sabine "behind" him as support. Then the other 2? behind them? Dropping Evans completely. And no need to spread over 2 shows. To be different I get it, no 3 people are going to have the charisma of the previous tripod, but 4/5 without Evans I think would be a better show.

I'll wait a year for the new season to be released onto Netflix. I am however looking forward to The Grand Tour with my amazon subscription.

I do not think the voice is too grating, but the movements, facial expressions and overall mannerism does annoy me slightly. But you could say the same thing about Clarkson hair, gangling appearance, or over the top acting. In any case, it's not enough to deter me from watching the show.

As a first episode its not bad.

They need time to smooth things out. They are obviously uncomfortable with the big shoes they are filling (and try to make up for it by being LOUDER). I will give them a couple episodes to make their own "shoes".
