Small claims is going to be hard due to the fact that it has to be filed and handled in New Jersey.

ainadude, that definitely sounds like paypal. There's a reason they're paying out on a class action suit.

Never again will I use paypal. I'm closing my account with them as soon as this issue is resolved. It's not because I failed to do my due diligence, it's because the customer service was so poor and the fact that none of the offshore staff could give me the proper info before finally getting me to someone in the US.I just can't do it with them anymore. Yes it's convenient but I refuse to support such shit service.

Update. PayPal said since its been 10 days with no response they'll refund the money tomorrow. Praying this is true.

Gah dang. I'm really sorry to hear about this. I cant believe someone like that would completely lie to someones face like that. I wouldnt even be able to sleep at night if I did things like that. I really do hope all goes well in your favor.

So what would be a safe alternative in this kind of situation? No deposit? I there some other service that could be used? Ive been weary about transferring that kind of money through paypal.

That's actually a good idea. I'm going to remove my bank acct and everything else. I hate that I won't ever be able to use such a convienient way to pay and be paid.
