Watched the end of it and the highlights this morning. I'll keep my mouth shut.

I was stoked for Button's win at the last race - and almost shit myself when Schumi dropped out (considering he already knew Alonso wasn't going to get any points).

Well the race has been aired twice by now (live and re-broadcast) but I don't want to deliver the spoiler just yet. I will say that the Instanbul circuit is an awesome track with several opportunities for passing.....which always makes for an interesting race regardless of the genre. The turn 8 complex with its three or four chicanes is absolutely badass. F1 cars take it at 160mph!

overall an exciting race, with the spectacular first corner collisions and massa winning his first, as well as alonso finishing infront of schumi....did you see schumacers face? he didnt look too happy but alonso was smiling

overall a good race, buton finished fourth good for honda, bmw had a good qualifying run in the begining as well

Best race of the season without a doubt. Ferrari's finally pulling into a good zone, Michael's been acting like a spoiled rotten kid this year.

Did not like how they failed to respect Masa's first win. He was nobody last year.

Somebody noticed Massa at some point. :)

The first time I noticed him, he was full-lock sideways around a fast sweeper. He never lifted, and it was one of the most amazing displays of talent I've seen in a long time. SPEED ran the clip several times in slo-mo.

The TV feed definitely short-changed him as far as coverage is concerned. I don't know who was in charge of production for that race, but they deserve an ass-chewing.

That was one of the best races in recent memory. The fight between Alonso & the Chin was incredible. One of the best of the year, anyway.

The Monza race in two weeks is going to be a real test for Alonso and Renault.....its the home race for Ferrari so expect them to pull out all the stops. Most of that track is a point-n-shoot affair with the driver's at full throttle close to 75% of the time. I think the Ferraris have an edge on outright power and top speed potential. Renault & Michelin need to hammer out a good package that will deliver. The tire war is intensifying - the Bridgestones perform at their peak for quali and shorter stints whereas the Michelins seem to lack an edge in quali but hold up well over the long haul. Good grip and balance in "curva grande" and "curva parabolica" will be crutial.

True. The best Renault can hope for is to limit the damage at Monza. If Alonso can pull off a top 5, then they'll be in pretty good shape for the rest of the season. The remaining circuits are better venues for the Renault chassis.

ba, schuie was the fastest man there this past race. made up a ton of time on alanso after blowing turn 8. but as you can see, with the faster cars at least, they cannot run nose to tail like the FIA has been trying to introduce.

Take out the safety car period:
                    1. Schuie, 2. Massa, 3. Alanso

schuie has got to win, massa has got to come in second. alanso can finish anywhere else, thats fine by me!

yea true bridgestone seem to be the quicker tires in the begining and you know ferrari has some tricks up their sleaves for monza...they know that track like the back of their hand

its unfortunate that renault had to remove their mass damper on their car due to fia rules...their chasis was built for that damper being there and it seems like lately they arent as quick as they were in the begining

Ferrari really screwed up both Micheal and themselves by not sending Masa around to pit on the next lap.

With just four races left, how M.Schuey and Alonso finish is key. The critical element is Massa.....he needs to finish in second to keep Alonso in third when the checkered flag waves if MS is to take the title. As it stands now, Alonso has 110 points and Schuey has 98 points. Top three finishers in points for a given race are as follows: first place is good for 10 points, second is worth 8 points and third is worth 6 points.

Lets assume Schuey wins the last four races. His 98 points + 40 points for those wins = 138 points.

Should Alonso get 2nd in the last four races, his 110 points + 32 points will yield him 142 points. If Alonso gets two second place finishes and two third place finishes (8+8+6+6 points) he would have 138 points just like MS. Not sure how the title champion is decided if two drivers are tied in the points. Does it go to the driver whose team has the most constructor points or to the driver with more outright wins?

So for Alonso to take the title again this year, he needs to finish at least in second place three times and third place once (assuming MS wins the last four) to squeak past Schuey by just two points. Now that would make for an exciting conclusion to the season!

I'm all about an exciting conclusion.

The tie-breaker will be number of wins.
