At a shop I worked at years ago, there was a chick that did the same thing to a supra, and the car was beat. I'll pass.

Perhaps because of the slight price difference between the Chevrolet and the Ferrari.

If I could afford it I would get a new C6 Z06 and an Aston for the price of the new comparable Ferrari. The Z06 would be the on track monster/off track asshole car. Then I could take the gorgeous Aston out when I just want a GT cruiser.

Good point. Lets assume you're referring to Ferrari's 'entry level' car, the F430 coupe with its MSRP is $168K - that's the stripped model with a standard 6-speed manual. If you want the slick F1 sequential gearbox, sport seats and the carbon-fiber disc brake package, plan on shelling out roughly 20% more on top of that price.

The C6 Z06 Vette has very few options (not that it needs any) and its about $75K or so.

So there's an obvious price difference between the two. Heck, with the money you save by opting not to buy the Ferrari you can go out and get two Z06s and still have some change left over. Now there's food for thought.

It would depend on the circumstances.

The 'Vette would obviously be a better daily driver. Ferarris tend to be somewhat fragile.

The best BMW compromise would be an M6, in that class, tough enough to take a beating every day, and fast enough to hold it's own against Lambos.
But frankly, I'd prefer a 760Li. M Cars just have a negative vibe for me.

Plus according to C&D, the Z06 wipes it out in a straight line and around their road course (beats the 997TT also)--it might have beat them in braking as well, not positive on that.

Well, I believe the price difference is the ability to rev 2000 more rpm. Combine that with the mechanical sex noises from the flat plane crank V8 that emanate from its exhaust, and I think you'll see where the additional hundred grand went.
