Guest repliedIll take the Z over just about any Ferrari. Has anybody heard about the mid engine, supercharged, 650hp+ Corvette SS due out in 2008? If the Z can beat cars hundreds of thousands of dollars more, think of what this abomination is going to do. I cant wait to see it.Leave a comment:

Well its a given it went into the car. Just touch the leather in the F430 and its obvious the difference in materials. The buttons have a SOLID feel to them and the seats dont wiggle like they do in the new Z06.
Being said, the Z06 is a simple, light, and stupidly powerful car. That makes its a monster on a track. So for the price of the Ferrari you can have something that looks about the same and goes a hell of a lot faster.
Then with the change you have you can get an Aston, it will have the looks that neither of the other car has and the kickass interior youd get in the prancing horse. Sure its not as fast, but if you are worried about looks and comfort speed is never an issue (driving 40kph through the streets of Monte Carlo).Leave a comment:

Well, I believe the price difference is the ability to rev 2000 more rpm. Combine that with the mechanical sex noises from the flat plane crank V8 that emanate from its exhaust, and I think you'll see where the additional hundred grand went.Leave a comment:

Good point.Good point. Lets assume you're referring to Ferrari's 'entry level' car, the F430 coupe with its MSRP is $168K - that's the stripped model with a standard 6-speed manual. If you want the slick F1 sequential gearbox, sport seats and the carbon-fiber disc brake package, plan on shelling out roughly 20% more on top of that price.
The C6 Z06 Vette has very few options (not that it needs any) and its about $75K or so.
So there's an obvious price difference between the two. Heck, with the money you save by opting not to buy the Ferrari you can go out and get two Z06s and still have some change left over. Now there's food for thought.

Plus according to C&D, the Z06 wipes it out in a straight line and around their road course (beats the 997TT also)--it might have beat them in braking as well, not positive on that.Leave a comment:

It would depend on the circumstances.
The 'Vette would obviously be a better daily driver. Ferarris tend to be somewhat fragile.
The best BMW compromise would be an M6, in that class, tough enough to take a beating every day, and fast enough to hold it's own against Lambos.
But frankly, I'd prefer a 760Li. M Cars just have a negative vibe for me.Leave a comment:

If I could afford it I would get a new C6 Z06 and an Aston for the price of the new comparable Ferrari. The Z06 would be the on track monster/off track asshole car. Then I could take the gorgeous Aston out when I just want a GT cruiser.Leave a comment:

At a shop I worked at years ago, there was a chick that did the same thing to a supra, and the car was beat. I'll pass.Leave a comment:
