It was fake. Kimmel always does the joke about "Sorry to Matt Damon, we ran out of time." as parody to when actual big-name talk shows have to bump guests. Then kimmel does the 5 minute long introduction and they cut to Ben Stiller checking his watch.

Youd have to be pretty fucking thick to think it was real, besides, Im not even famous and I wouldnt be mad about being bumped from the Kimmel show.
