For state farm do you need an appraisal or can you just agree on a value?
State Farm won't give you an agreed value policy. I asked and the agent gave me a blank stare and asked why anyone would want one because they will only pay out what the car is worth. I turned around and walked out the door stating that they were less than helpful and had nothing to offer me. Farmers is the only insurance company that I found that will offer a stated value policy on a car that is regularly driven. You do need an appraisal. Still $350 or so is a small price to pay when your car gets smeared and the insurance company claims its a total because its only worth what their book tells them.
