Personally I feel the r32 looks like a bloated 240sx coupe, granted I love all Skylines, but the r33 & r34 look more like a car that stands on it's own in the Nissan line.
Agreed on the 240sx coupe comment, and I think it continues. I think the R33 looks very similar to the S14 from certain angles, but most specifically the rear quarters.
Spency, that's the new M5 motor. It has the turbos mounted in the V of the engine, also uses gasoline direct injection. It seems like diesel technology is spilling over into the petrol world.
Having the turbos mounted in the V allows both banks of cylinders to feed exhaust pulses to both turbos giving a bitchin' torque curve.
The new M5 motor has two of everything: air inlets, turbos, intercoolers, etc. but since the new turbo location allows sharing exhaust it gives much smoother power delivery. Previous twin turbo V configured applications like the Audi S4 essentially act like two separate 3 cylinder engines joined at the crank.
The 240sx and skylines are superb machines. I don't agree with the previous comments because I love yje r32, but take a look at an r32 and an s13 coupe from the b-pillar back. They are basically identical.
