Having the turbos mounted in the V allows both banks of cylinders to feed exhaust pulses to both turbos giving a bitchin' torque curve.
The new M5 motor has two of everything: air inlets, turbos, intercoolers, etc. but since the new turbo location allows sharing exhaust it gives much smoother power delivery. Previous twin turbo V configured applications like the Audi S4 essentially act like two separate 3 cylinder engines joined at the crank.

The 240sx and skylines are superb machines. I don't agree with the previous comments because I love yje r32, but take a look at an r32 and an s13 coupe from the b-pillar back. They are basically identical.Past: 1987 325iS, Bilsteins - HR Sports
Present: 1999 M3, Koni Yellows - HR Sports - GC Camber Plates - UUC Swaybars - UUC SSK - AFE Intake - Stromung Catback
2009 Mazdaspeed3, Short Ram Intake - Turbo Inlet Pipe - 2nd cat Delete - Catback - Fuel Pump Internals - Cobb Accessport - Stratified E30 tune - 294/342 - SPC Camber Arms - CPE Rear Motor Mount
