                    I think he means the drain strainer is about an inch raised above the surface that is mounted to, making it higher than the bottom of the "sink"

                    I think he has to have an overflow lower in the sink, or, as likely...it isn't used and is for show?

                          I think it's just decoration. Maybe in a car museum or something. You can't build a sink like that with the drain that high, you would normally machine something like that down... If it is real, it's dumb. Real dumb.

                                I was thinking there might be smaller drain holes around the back side of that raised part where the drain is, maybe that back part of the bell housing sits lower back there. That would have been REALLY hard to machine that center part down flush to put a drain down in there, so maybe they did that.
