That would be awesome if it were real. But, at the same time, why do people do awesome builds like that to make drift cars? I mean, I know why, but it would be nice to see someone do something crazy like that for the car to be a track monster, not a drift monster. Just my two cents.I agree. I think it's because of two things: Drifting is the fashionable thing right now, and building a track monster takes much more in-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics than drifting. It's one thing to break tires loose, it's another thing entirely to keep them at the edge.
Who the hell do you guys think you are? I don't think either of you really know what goes into a "drift build". The gap between some drift cars and some of your "race" cars are not much more than an alignment, and a set of tires. hours spent studying suspension geometry, the hours spent on fab work and parts design alone...
Hell, Rhys Millen won pikes peak in his Formula Drift prepared Hyundai Genesis, posting a 9:46.
Do i think drifting is pointless? yes. But give credit where credit is due.

I mean I'm aware that it's a race car, but I'm just trying to drive a point.
the gap between a professional "drift" build and a "circuit" build is very small.
In grassroots stuff, the difference between the two is pretty embarassing.
Rhys Millen has brought the overall Pikes Peak International Hill Climb record back to his family. He did it with his Formula Drift Hyundai Genesis Coupe, which was entered into the Time Attack class. This was a record-breaking event in many ways as there were a whole load of wrecks. There were a total of eight red …Last edited by bataangpinoy; 03-29-2013, 06:27 PM.My feedback:

I guess it depends what level of 'professional' you are talking about, but I could agree that the suspensions on most professional level drift cars are not much different than the setups on a lot of production series race cars.
Also, did you really quote yourself in your sig? Damn bro. Ambitious.-AlexComment

Purpose built car for drifting. Thats the SAME car he used in Formula Drift.

Honestly level of money a professional team has top play with suspension geometry is far different than an amateur has.Comment

I just tend to get butthurt about these kind of topics, too many people scoff at drifting without understanding or having experience in the sport. My feedback:
