Definitely a neat picture but it isn't real. Black holes cannot be "seen". They are so dense that not even light can escape once it has passed the event horizon. The only way we know that they exist is because of the effects that they have on nearby objects such as stars.
True to an extent, but the surrounding area of a black hole is actually extremely bright. This is due to the gas moving into the event horizon at such fast speeds that the friction involved creates brilliant heat and produces what we see as a big, bright, area in the center of a galaxy.
This is also the main reason a black hole cannot be photographed.Comment
