i will say that oath of the horatii by david is one of my favorite paintings. but you cant compare neoclassical painting to japanese paintings of the edo period. (im referring to just the first painting when i say neoclassical. the others are done in other styles, obviously.)

Actually Ker, your taste in art is clearly different than mine. I prefer painting to be one that looks realistic, not one that could seemingly be done by a 2 year old with a box of crayons.
To each their own.


And use capitals, it's not all that hard.

ah, didnt know you responded. i wouldnt have edited my post. as i said, the first painting (oath of horatii) is one of my favorites, but i definitely dont just appreciate paintings that look realistic.

where would the world be without braque?

as for the reason i only use lowercase? i agree with herbert bayer (typographer, bauhaus movement) who argued that, "lowercase alone was more economical because it required one alphabet instead of two, and will give perfectly legible texts once readers had grown used to it."

in this day and age of super legible type, there is no reason for capital letters. only proper punctuation and spelling.

That has to be one of, if not the most uneducated thing i have ever read. Maybe in the mid 1900's when typing on computers was non existent that may have worked... never mind, it didn't.

Try to get into a college this day and age with a college essay written in all lower case letters. Try using all lower case letters on your resume, job application, etc and you will probably be laughed at.
