Maybe you guys could just watch all of the news channels: CNN, FOX, NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, NPR, MTV, and The Daily Show, and be overloaded with biases and then be like, "Dude, I totally hate everything about the world because not everybody shares my perspective."

These debates are great. Its like people cant think for themselves, but can just enough to get pissed at a new station that they dont agree with, but arent going to think anymore than that, just bitch about it.

          i wish caps worked.
I consider a moron to be one who touts one major media outlet as the only true source of news. Like most Rush Bimbo fans that believe everything he says like it is the word of God.

Believe whatever you want. They're all full of shit. The Nielsen Ratings are a crock as well. Sorry if I don't believe everything I read on the internet and hear on TV.

I listen and watch both. I listen to Fox New Radio all day and watch CNN in the morning on TV. When I wake up it's Public Radio Early Morning News. When you allow anyone media outlet tell you what to think you start to lose the ability to form your own opinions and conclusions which sadly, has already allowed the public opinion to be influence by most major media outlets.

CNN vs Fox = Conservative vs Liberals.. in the end it's the basic divide and conquer.

I consider myself of somewhat of an independent Liberatarian. To get America back on track we need less Government Programs, Less Taxes (FairTax.org), and a good cleaning of our government leadership. As we sit both parties have no problem selling the public down the river. No integrity or loyatly to the public they serve.

cable news is too much opinion to fill their 24 hours. It used to be that newspeople tried their best not to give opinion (dont get me wrong, I'm sure their beliefs came through in their reporting, I don't think you can get around that)

24 cable shows got a bunch of people talking and little reporting. More, here is the big news story of the day, here's some dude who has an opinion, ready, start, argue.

Myself, I read the news stories on reuters online, and watch ABC world news tonight. I do watch the daily show, and am a fan, but I wouldn't count something on the comedy channel as a news source. Just like I don't count Robin's news on the stern show.

wow are you a media consultant on the side? are you sure starbucks is cool with that? i mean side jobs and shit, might lose your barista status. fucking loser GO HOME. i'm not editorializing when i say fnc is #1. the system which is in place and has been for years rates them at #1. fox does what every other news network does: SELL A PRODUCT. Just like your fucking mocha half frap loser latte, fart sniffing eco-friendly ego-bloating fralalalalala hybrid, or your fucking trendy ass ipod laser gun phone sex toy pda, they cater to consumers. it just happens that they do a better job then the other guys. like i said, does that mean i believe the fools at the channel have one inkling of journalistic integrity or merit? probably not. regardless of how you rate the the current state of the 4th estate (rofl), when it comes to raw numbers, they top the charts. ratings have nothing to do with the IQ of the viewing audience (just earning potentials).

Maybe. But "Culture Warrior" he is not. The "traditional" party he prefers to associate himself with is, more and more, appearing to be a bunch of white good ol' boy, black, gay and women fearing, illegal immigrant loving, accessories to corporate greed. Perhaps that's the culture he prefers?

It is so unbelievably ironic that Foley, a member of the party who claims "personal responsibility and accountability" as one of its pillars, has seen fit to blame a multitude of outside factors for his problems..."I'm a drunk!" "No wait-it's because I'm gay-don't you know all gay guys like looking at young men?"

You know, at this point, we've had 6 years of Republican control of both House and Senate. I'm not better off for it! My town isn't better off, and my country's leaders are a global laughing stock. The local GOP candidate for the Ohio gubernatorial race has been caught in some very questionable business dealings as well as the failure to recuse himself from administering his own election. He's the current Sec. State. and apparently sees no conflict of interest in having the office over which he presides counting the ballots!

I don't think that it would matter who was running the house. Like I said before.. both parties won't hesitate to sell America down the river. It's been a corporate / special interest hayday party on Capitol Hill for the past decade and getting worse. Ultimately it's up to the American public to bring about reform in our government not government to bring about reform on itself. The results are no different then allowing the Senate or House to vote on their own pay raises.

Federal Govt. no matter who is in office is trying to gobble up more power over citizens through new legislation and government programs. Eventually we will be a socialist nation playing a major role in globalization. I think America's golded days are almost over and it make me sad. Eventually we will no longer be super power we once were due to the fact that we've changed from strong productive & innovatice country once united on basic priniciples to a weakened consumerist country sharply divided by the media and government.

You dont know shit about what your talking about. America is going to go socialist just because of glbalization? There are three stages that a developed country progresses through. Agricultural society to Industrial and finally service industry oriented. America has reached the latter. It doesnt make us any less powerful or innovative. What does consumerism have anything to with it to begin with. I will give you that it seems the country is more divided now, but it would be the same way if Kerry or some other Liberal was president, if not more so cause he couldnt take a stand on anything.

Wow.. service industry oriented eh? I wasn't aware the roman's had cell phones. Our innovation is being sold over seas. I see it first hand because I work in a Robotics Engineering Lab at a US University where <10% of the Graduate students are American. I've heard the professors say many times how sad it is that American students would rather get their 4 yr degree and bail out. You wonder why Japanese cars as far more superior than American built cars?

We've developed a new generation of Americans that think just because they are entitled to everything that everyone else has just because they and breathe in America. The only service industry that is thriving right now is the banking and credit industry that has convinced Americans they can buy whatever they want as long as they send their paycheck to the bank every month.

When our economy becomes globalized the Asian market is going to kill us. Look around.. 75%+ of this nation is made up of fat, lazy, Americans that think showing up at work merits a paycheck and living from paycheck to paycheck thinking that's great way to manage money. You really think a nation can prosper very long with those kinds of people behind it?

We've become so complacent that now when we get mad about how much our government stinks we sit around and bitch about it on the internet. :)

Have you taken an economics course? Part of the reason China can have such large growth so fast is the fact that they are still considered a developing country and therefor arent regulated nearly as much. Why do you think Bush was so oppsed to the Kyoto treaty?
