"Beautiful car, man...I have an '89"
The story goes like this. My GF and I were coming back from the coast. Patchy fog, kinda thick. Coming around a 35 MPH left bend (at about 45) we see a late 80's Accord with the lights out, drifting to the right shoulder, slowly.
Immediately after we spot the Honda, we see a deer carcass in our lane.
A quick dodge to the right and we are still zipping along, safely.
Kim says "That just happened, those people hit the deer, we better go back and check on them" so we flip a bitch and drive the 1/4 mile back to the scene. 4 people next to the car, another car stopped already, everyone safe...but the 9 year old girl was still shaking and Kim (the GF) was comforting her. Just then, a cop rounds the bend...all of this happened in the middle of a "blind in both directions" corner...headed east, just as we were. He U-turns, lights ablaze, parks behind me, where i had the ass end of my car out in the road a bit with hazards on, 10 yards or so from the scene of the wreck. By this time, the carcass had been spread 60 feet down the road, damn near decapatated, big bloody mess. Cop checks status of the people in the Honda. Walking back to his car to go set flares up he is shining his flashlight on my car, like looking for damage.
He looks at me and busts out the best words ever from a cops mouth: "Beautiful car. I have an '89"
