A common misconception is that A) your body flushes things you don't actually need to flush and B) you could survive in the wilderness longer by using your urine if you couldn't find water.

While it is true that there are lots of vitamins and such in your urine that could be "reused", there are also a lot of things that have been flushed out of your system for a reason and the human body does not have the capabilities to seperate the good from the bad if one were to ingest there own urine.

One thing that is flushed from your body when you urinate is salt. So if you were stuck somewhere without water and tried drinking your own urine you would actually speed up the dehydration process and effectively shorten your ability to survive.
