My stock Nissan battery lasted 6 years, the interstate in my e30 has been in there since I've had it, so about 4 years. A good battery will cost half of an Optima. They just seem like a waste of money, you can get two batteries for the price of an optima. The cold cranking ability you are talking about, most high end parts store batteries actually have more CCAs than the optima.sigpic

Hell, I've dumped almost $1k in my 325is to get it back to roadworthy for this winter. I would have rather bought myself an OEM Evolution 3 wing, but cest'le vie. I know the M will sit inside under the cover all winter and that makes the $$ I'm spending on the 325 worth it.
