    Anyone have a dodge caliber?

We are lookin at getting rid of the mountie for a newer "car." Its for my mother and she dosnt want a "car" she wants an SUV. Which I think is really a waste since she dosnt haul or tow anything, just a big gas hog for no reason.

Anyways, I kinda of found a middle ground with the caliber. I speced out one with the bigger 4cyl and AWD. Gets 23mpg city and 26 highway which isnt too bad, considering how she probably gets 16 right now. Also its not a "car" so she likes it, and it comes in a weird orange color because she wants a weird color for whatever reason.

Anyways does anyone have one of these? I went and looked at one tonight and they dont look to shabby. $300 is really feasible a month for a lease something like 50k for 39 months which is probably pretty generous. With a 21k price tag for a brand new 07 it seems pretty damn good.

Unless anyone has another opinion on a good car?

    I have a .308 winchester caliber.
    And a .45 auto caliber.

And a few other calibers - they all work great for me.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

DC will be releasing a 300hp SRT Caliber in a few months. Thats about the only thing worth mentioning about them IMO.

Dodge hired a great marketing firm for their commercials.

I laughed pretty hard the first time I saw this one. Got banned kind of quick though from cable. :)

Oh, but the truck, it's nice I suppose. It isn't too big of an SUV, and it looks like it can hold a lot.

I work at a television station running commercials and I saw this for the first time during a show of Jimmy Kimmel Live. I cracked up.

Check out the Mazda CX-7 if you haven't already. My wife and I leased one for her last weekend and it is a great package. Lots of turbo power, tons of features, and awd if you want it. They have some pretty good deals on them right now.

Its brilliant. Take a car smaller than a golf and make it look like your popular SUV line, dub a V8 soundtrack, and tell people its a truck.

I agree. The Caliber is alright, but the CX-7 is a hell of an SUV, but it's more expensive.

I guess the thing I don't like about the Caliber is that the interior is so cheap. Chrysler can't seem to make a decent interior (300 excepted) for the life of them.

Well, we are not getting it because its a SUV, I hardly consider it one, nor would I ever buy one if I wanted a SUV. I think it works out perfect for her, shes happy because its not a "car" and everyone else is happy because its not ridiculous to drive. Like I said before we are not going to haul or tow anything in it, so the power it has is enough just to get from A to B with a decent gas milage, also its taller than a car and with AWD it should be fairly good in MN snow.

Ill check out the CX-7 and see what she thinks.

I drive them all the time for work, they're kinda hard to see out the back. The ones we have are the standard ones with the really slow engines.

I'd rathar have a Mazda 3. But the caliber I guess would be a pretty good moms car.

My mom just bought a 2007 Mazda 3, 5-speed with the sport package, and that thing is fucking badass. Really quick, and handles really well, too!
