I've heard differing things...I've searched for the law and have come up empty handed.

I've heard 5, I've heard as many as you want as long as they are all registered in your name and taxes are paid on them, but nobody, including the DMV, has ever given me a straight answer.

I've always wondered because I go in and out of cars a lot...if you find out, let us know.

I don't know about CA, but in PA getting a dealer license is hard even if you have a dealership. They make it so you must loose alot of money to get it, to stop people like me from getting it and going to auctions and buying mint e30's for under $1000.

I think it's 4. Fill out a 262 & go to AAA with each buyer to make sure the vehicle transfer & new registration is issued & buyer pays taxes. The DMV won't get on you if you go over 4. $45 for a AAA membership & transfer breeze, is much better than $400 for a dealer lic. & the MANY hoops you have to jump thru.

No... I meant I can't, I don't have a license, because its so damn hard to get it. A friend of mine opened a used car dealership, and it took him months to get everything approved for the license. I used his license to get a 93 325is from Copart auto auctions in Delaware for $250. I parted it out for a total of $6000 or so and still have the engine, leather heated electric sport seats, and a few other things.

Dealer license's and Copart auctions can be your best friend. I know of several Russian's locally who make their living off of it, and live very well to say the least. Buy 2 cheap wrecked cars, with opposite damage, and combine them for a good one and make 8-10 times your money back.

Anyway, sorry for rambling, ecspecially off-topic.
