Here is the breakdown. Most bands start out with a sound that a select group of people enjoy. I'll use AFI for example. They started out playing and writing what they loved and now they are putting whatever they think is marketable on a record. For the most part with bands that have evolved into something new like AFI, the people that go to the shows are pretty emo, or I just like to call them the rejects that want to fit in with there white belts.
Then there are people that go to real hardcore / metal shows, even shows that are on the same day as Killswitch engage (yuck) is in town at another venue. Normal people mix up the true kids with the gay kids that go see killswitch engage, fuck that. When I see those people at the real shows, you can tell they are trying to fit in, its pathetic. If your going to bob your head at least do it to the fuckin beat and don't wear a Norma Jean shirt.
and as long as it isn't some 'gay' kid, it really dosn't matter if they have tight pants on. Its a preference and now a days where everything is baggy, chick pants is the way to go. I myself am in the middle with lowrise bootcut jeans, but I still get the "are those chick pants" questions. I always say these arn't tight at all...
In the end though I dont care what anyone thinks since most people base there opinions around everyone elses and they can't think for themselves, nor do they have the mental capasity to find out what the real deal is all about. I'll still wear my black shirt and hell maybe even my black pants even on the same day and go see a band like The Warriors or As Blood Runs Black and have a hell of a good time.
