busted tranny case aluminum ear mounts...yes the actual aluminum mounts on the case tore off.
    bad tranny mounts
    shredded guibo
    torn up driveshaft
    clutch fan
    timing belt
    ignition
    plugs

    thats about it for me.
    it needs:
    new seats
    front fenders
    drivers door
    control arms
    cabs
    lca bushings
    subframe mounts
    shocks

Yea this thread was made a while back and I had to edit it about 20 times, being OCD is not fun.

Everything needs fixing. Everything. That is the OCD way.

              missfire - check spark plugs
              high idle
              small leak somewhere, thinking transmission
              passenger mirror broke

It feels good to say that's basically it. Body is 9.5/10 and some trim pieces aren't perfect, but it finally really NEEDS nothing. Including cost of the car, which was $5000, almost at $10,000 total. That number should be no more than $7000, but I wasted money on "upgrades" that it didn't need. I also was a noob and took my car to an expensive shop. I also could have saved a lot of money on suspension parts if I had found r3v sooner and replaced things all at once.

edit: just remembered that it still has teh diving board problem.

                f'ed up valance
                shit paint
                vibrations at 75

                bad tensioner
                bad struts

I don't think I can stay awake that long. Lets just say that I bought my 86 es bone stock 4.5 yrs ago, and I've got ~4k into her. And I bought my 87 e for $600 and immediately dumped $700 into her.

my 84 318i after close to 3k worth of parts still needs the following done

                    must do
                    1. install the clutch kit that's been sitting for over a month now, stock clutch is slipping
                    2. flush coolant and then install new radiator, water pump and t-stat
                    3. get new sticky tires

                    want to do
                    1. swap rear drums for disks and big diff with lsd.
                    2. install z3 or z4 shifter
                    3. swap the 4spoke bus steering wheel for something else
                    4. get rid of rear vinyl seats and get cloth seats or half a cage
                    5. get a new cat-back, old one is rusted in a couple spots
                    6. get new 318is black molding
                    7. get a new steering rack
                    8. get 666fab turbo manifold and turbo this bitch
                    9. swap atleast the front bumper to plastic since it looks to be a bolt-on

I can just copy and paste everyone's problems and I would have my problems

and then some ride-height related problems

Not an e30, but my MG. Could be interesting:

                            Intake gasket replaced (leaked)
Bent arm mount (hit a curb :( )
Points - switched to Pertronix electronic
                            Waterpump died
Pertronix unit died - switched to Crane
Crack in Weber carb - Body was replaced
Alternator died - replaced with uprated one
Rusted out seat bolt (had to weld in a patch of steel)
Battery died after draining it several time leaving the lights on - replaced with Optima Red Top
Detected clutch slip recently in upper gears

Other then general carb tuning, that's it in the last 3 years.

They are 20 year old cars - sounds like normal maintenance for most of them, not really problems.
